Welcome to my "About Me" page. Here you can learn a little bit about me, my social media use in the form of a visitor/resident map, and a partner activity with a classmate where we investigated each other on social media. My LinkedIn profile is also available for viewing on this page as well as the LinkedIn icon in the top right corner of the whole website.

SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIT: Part One
My partner was Makenzie. This is her observations about my social media identity:
Step 1
-
Google your partner’s name. What have you found?
-
I see a LinkedIn account, search result for Tzell Travel Group, twitter account, a SoundCloud account, a link to CGS Dean’s List, and a profile on MyLife.com
-
-
Is your partner on LinkedIn? Facebook? Twitter? Other social platforms?
-
Yes, she is on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. I can find the LinkedIn, Twitter the easiest because they are the first and third search results to appear, respectively, after googling her name. I know she has the other accounts because we follow each other on those platforms already.
-
-
Describe your partner’s behavior on social media. Is your partner active or passive? What types of content does your partner post?
-
On twitter, she is mostly passive because most tweets are recirculated content as opposed to original content. The content includes very relevant subjects in the news, as well as posts with humor. Her Instagram has artistic taste as it showcases her travels and aesthetically-pleasing photography with witty captions. Her Facebook shows passive behavior. Most posts on her wall are from others tagging her in photos and occasionally updating a profile or cover photo.
-
Step 2
My overall perception of Gillian is that she is a fun girl with a definite creative side. Her captions and photos show her artistic and funny nature. I can tell she has high cultural taste and she exemplifies class in her social media presence.
Step 3
To enhance the strategy, Gillian could try to post some more original content to further solidify her tastes and creative appeal for her social media audience.
Step 4
Makenzie's audit of my social media presence perfectly reflects my intended social media strategy. When it comes to social media, it's extremely important for me to accurately represent myself the same as I would in real-life. I like to joke around and show my sense of humor, but I also appreciate seriousness. Going forward, I intend to refine my social media even further and tweak my profiles that might not be suitable for future employers to see. As graduation approaches, it's important for me to carry myself professionally.
Reflection
Finally, include your description of your own brand personality (and differentiate between "in person" and "on social media," if they are differentiated/use any other sort of differentiations as necessary (for example, by platform)
-
I would say that my brand personality is a mix of fun and creativity. My Instagram and Twitter profiles include my sense of humor and my laid-back personality. It's very important to me to have the same personality in person and on social media, but I sometimes find myself filtering my social media more often because of the potential of future employers and family members seeing things they wouldn't necessarily find appropriate. Because I'm anticipating a career involving social media, it's also important for my social media profiles to be visible to the public. The only platform of mine that is not publicly displayed is Snapchat, because I view it as a private platform strictly for communication between close friends and family.
